The company was founded in St. Paul , Minnesota in 1934 as Old Dutch Products Co. In 1937 it moved to Minneapolis . In 1968 the company's headquarters were relocated to the suburb of Roseville.
Old Dutch entered the Canadian market in 1954 with the opening of its first manufacturing facility in Winnipeg , Manitoba . The company's headquarters for Canada are still there today. Old Dutch was initially only active in western Canada. With the takeover of Humpty Dumpty Snack Foods for 26.7 million Canadian dollars, the market position was strengthened and the market expansion in eastern Canada advanced.
Old Dutch operates as an independent company in both countries. It trades as Old Dutch Foods, Inc. in the United States and Old Dutch Foods, Ltd in Canada . There are five manufacturing facilities in Canada and two in the United States.
Products
Old Dutch offers a large number of potato chips in different flavors. In addition, other products such as tortilla chips , dips, salsa , popcorn and beef jerky are offered. The products are sold in the United States in the states of Michigan , Minnesota, North Dakota , Iowa , Nebraska , South Dakota and Wisconsin, and throughout Canada.
