Roseville is a city in the US state of Minnesota . It is located in Ramsey County .

geography

Roseville belongs to the northern metropolitan area of ​​Minneapolis-Saint Paul in the American Midwest . The city shares city limits with Minneapolis to the southwest and St. Paul to the south . It is the only city next to Lauderdale that borders on both Twin Cities.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the area of ​​the city is 35.8 square kilometers, of which 1.5 square kilometers is water.

history

The areas around Roseville were originally inhabited by the Dakota and Ojibwe Indians. The first white settlers arrived around 1843 and the natives left the region in 1862. Rose Township was established in 1850. It was named after one of the first settlers, Isaac Rose. The Township included not only the faces of today's cities Roseville, Lauderdale and Falcon Heights also areas of present-day St. Paul.
