Fantasy Flight Games ( FFG ) is an American game publisher headquartered in Roseville , Minnesota . The publishing house has been integrated into the Asmodée Group as an independent publisher since 2014 .
history
In 1995 the Dane Christian T. Petersen, who was born in the United States, founded the game publisher Fantasy Flight Publishing in the United States . Since the first board game, Twilight Imperium, was released in 1997, the company has been known as Fantasy Flight Games and has published numerous board, card and role-playing games. The popular games include Descent: Journeys in the Dark and Arkham Horror .
FFG also designs board game adaptations for well-known computer games, movies and television series. Extensive games for World of Warcraft , The Lord of the Rings and Battlestar Galactica (see Battlestar Galactica (game) ) have been released. FFG is the market leader in the USA in the field of board games. From 2008 to February 2017 there was also a cooperation with Games Workshop .
The German-language translations of the FFG games are published by Heidelberger Spieleverlag .
With a press release dated November 17, 2014 it was announced that Fantasy Flight Games will in future be an integral part of the Asmodée Group. Roseville and Christian T. Petersen will continue to be their managing director and at the same time a significant shareholder in the group of companies. Nothing will change on the German market, reported the Heidelberg game publisher.
