Alexander Ramsey

The Ramsey County was from parts of the only in the October 27, 1849 Wisconsin existing St. Croix County formed. It was named after Alexander Ramsey (1815–1903), the second governor of Minnesota (1860–1863) and US Secretary of War (1879–1881).
