The Crow Wing County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Minnesota . In 2010 , the county had 62,500 residents and a population density of 24.2 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Brainerd , which was named after the author Ann Eliza Smith .

history
The Crow Wing County was formed on May 23, 1857 from parts of Ramsey County. It was named after an island at the confluence of the Crow Wing River with the Mississippi .
