The Faribault County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Minnesota . In 2010 , the county had 14,553 people and a population density of 7.9 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Blue Earth , which was named after the Blue Earth River .
geography
The county is located in southern Minnesota and borders Iowa . It has an area of 1869 square kilometers, of which 21 square kilometers are water. history
Faribault County was formed on February 20, 1855 from parts of Blue Earth County. It was named after Jean-Baptiste Faribault (1775-1860), a trader from Canada who was one of the first white settlers to settle in the area.
