A-Rosa Donna (registered ship name: A'Rosa Donna ) is a river cruise ship built in 2001/2002 by A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH in Rostock. Since the official commissioning in May 2002, the ship has been used for river cruises on the entire navigable Danube . In addition to her, the shipping company uses the identical sister ships A'Rosa Bella , A'Rosa Mia and A'Rosa Riva in this area .
history
The company Seetours, jointly managed as a joint venture by the Deutsche Seereederei (DSR) and the British shipping company P&O, decided in 2001 to offer sea cruises on the Danube as well as ocean cruises with the shipping company's own ship A'Rosa Blu under the brand name A'Rosa . For this purpose, the company ordered two new cabin passenger ships from the Neptun shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde . In 2001, the shipyard switched its production to inland waterways as a result of EU restrictions on new ships . The two completed ships A'Rosa Bella and A'Rosa Donna were handed over to the shipping company in March 2002 . Due to the width of 14.40 m, it was not possible to transfer the ships via the usual route over the Kiel Canal , Wadden Sea and Rhine , because the Main-Danube Canal is only for ships up to a width of 11, 40 m passable. Therefore, the two ships were on pontoons loaded and towed composite via the Black Sea to the mouth of the Danube to Constanta transported. There they were unloaded and drove under their own power over the Danube-Black Sea Canal to Oltenita . The transfer took a total of 22 days.
On May 10, 2002, the ship went on a maiden voyage from the Danube Delta to Passau. She followed her sister ship A'Rosa Bella , which was used the day before on the same route. In 2003 the joint venture with P&Q was dissolved. The river cruise brand A-Rosa was incorporated into the DSR subsidiary Arkona with the three ships delivered up to this point in time. After a management buy-out in 2009, ownership of the entire fleet was transferred to the newly founded independent A-Rosa Flussschiff GmbH.
Furnishing
The A'Rosa Donna is a three-deck cabin ship of the 4-star category with 100 double cabins with an area of 14.5 to 16.5 m². The two lower decks are designed as pure relaxation areas for passengers and crew. The crew cabins are located in the rear area of the two decks, which is impaired by the engine noise.
A fully glazed lounge with bar and stage was set up on the bow side on the upper deck . Behind it is the fitness and wellness area with massage options, a fitness room and two saunas. In the entrance area in the middle of the ship, an on-board shop was set up next to the reception. Six passenger cabins are connected to this area on the port side and the on-board cafe is on the starboard side. Behind another small lounge is the restaurant in the middle of which the buffet area and kitchen have been set up. The restaurant has an open aft deck .
