A-Rosa Mia (registered ship name: A'Rosa Mia ) is a river cruise ship built in 2002/2003 by A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH in Rostock. Since the official commissioning in April 2003, the ship has been used for river cruises on the entire navigable Danube . In addition to her, the shipping company uses the identical sister ships A'Rosa Bella , A'Rosa Donna and A'Rosa Riva in this area .

history

In front of the Hungarian Parliament building in Budapest.

The company Seetours, jointly run by the Deutsche Seereederei (DSR) and the British shipping company P&O as a joint venture , decided in 2001 to offer river cruises on the Danube under the brand name A'Rosa in addition to ocean cruises with the shipping company's own ship A'Rosa Blu . After the first two ships built for this purpose, A'Rosa Bella and A'Rosa Donna , were handed over by the shipyard on schedule in March 2002 , Seetours ordered two more structurally identical ships, which were to be delivered in 2003 and 2004. The ship, built under construction number 503, was handed over to the shipping company on February 27, 2003. With a dock ship it was then transferred by sea to the Danube mouth after Constanta transported. There it was unloaded and drove under its own power over the Danube-Black Sea Canal and the Danube to Passau , where it was baptized on April 16. A day later the ship went on its maiden voyage . The joint venture with P&O was dissolved in the same year. The river cruise brand A-Rosa was incorporated into the DSR subsidiary Arkona with all ships. After a management buy-out in 2009, ownership of the entire fleet was transferred to the newly founded independent A-Rosa Flussschiff GmbH.

Furnishing

The A'Rosa Mia is a three-deck cabin ship of the 4-star category with 100 double cabins with an area of 14.5 to 16.5 m². The cabins are air-conditioned and are each equipped with a shower, double bed, safe and flat screen TV. The 48 units on the middle deck have a French balcony. Behind four double cabins in the bow area of the lower deck are 42 cabins that are equipped with an additional sofa bed. The two lower decks are designed as pure relaxation areas for passengers and crew. The crew cabins are located in the rear area of the two decks, which is impaired by the engine noise.

A fully glazed lounge with bar and stage was set up on the bow side on the upper deck . Behind it is the fitness and wellness area with massage options, a fitness room and two saunas. In the entrance area in the middle of the ship, an on-board shop was set up next to the reception. Six passenger cabins are connected to this area on the port side and the on-board cafe is on the starboard side. Behind another small lounge is the restaurant in the middle of which the buffet area and kitchen have been set up. The restaurant has an open aft deck . A swimming pool and sun loungers are available for passengers behind the wheelhouse on the open deck. Behind it was a putting green, a shuffleboard and a chess field. The rear part of the deck is equipped with a grill station as well as tables and chairs. Parts of the open deck can be covered with awnings.
