The A-Rosa Flora is the newest river cruise ship from A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH and has been in service on the rivers Rhine , Main , Moselle and Danube since the start of the 2014 season . The ship is identical to its sister ship , the A-Rosa Silva , which was put into service in 2012. A special feature of the A-Rosa Flora is that it has two family cabins and can therefore be used specifically for family trips.
Even before the ninth ship of the A-ROSA fleet, the A-Rosa Brava , was handed over, the Rostock shipping company commissioned the Neptun shipyard on February 14, 2011 with the production of two identical passenger ships for use on the Danube, Main, Mosel and Rhine. The ships were specially designed for the small lock dimensions and bridge heights of the Main-Danube Canal . In addition, they should meet the needs of passengers for comfortable travel even on longer routes such as from Amsterdam to the Danube Delta . It was planned that the two ships would be delivered in 2012 and 2013. After A-Rosa-Silva was delivered, the shipping company changed the delivery year for A-Rosa Flora to 2014 for strategic reasons. The keel was laid on April 12, 2013, and the ship was completed in the last week of November. For reasons of space, Neptun transferred the A-Rosa Flora to the Meyer Werft in Papenburg , where it was parked until delivery on March 13, 2014. She was baptized on April 3, 2014 in Mainz - godmother was the actress and singer Yvonne Catterfeld . The maiden voyage of the A-Rosa Flora started on April 5, 2014 on the route from Cologne – Trier – Cologne.
Furnishing
The A-Rosa Flora has seven junior and four balcony suites (outside cabins) and is therefore the ship with most of the suites of the Rostock shipping company. In addition to 70 outside cabins, two family cabins (also outside cabins) were integrated into the ship concept for the first time. With a size of 18.5 m², there is space for up to four people per cabin. The new river boat is also equipped with two restaurants, two café bars, a Finnish and steam sauna in the SPA-ROSA and an outdoor pool.
technology
The A-Rosa Flora is like the A-Rosa Silva with four diesel engines Volvo Penta D12-450MH (KC), the four Z-Drive drive STP 200 with twin propellers equipped. The ship also has a bow thruster of the type Pump Jet-SPJ 82 from Schottel , which is driven by a 400 kW diesel engine. The ship is 135 meters long and 11.40 meters wide. The draft is given as 1.60 meters at normal load, the height above water as 6.00 meters. By lowering the wheelhouse and moving the railings and sun sails, the height can be reduced for trips on bodies of water with low bridges.
