Old Forge is a small town ( borough ) in Lackawanna County in the US state of Pennsylvania . According to the 2000 census , it had a population of 8,798 in an area of 9.1 km². The population density is 967 per km².
Demographics
The 8,798 residents of Old Forge, found in the 2000 census , lived in 3,746 households; including 2,457 families. The population density was 446 per km². 3,981 residential units were recorded in the village. Among the population, 99.0% were White, 0.2% African American, 0.4% Asian, and 0.2% from other races; 0.3% said they belonged to several ethnic groups.
