The Oldoinyo Lesatima (other spelling Ol Donyo Lesatima , also known as Mount Lesatima or Mount Satima ) is a 4001 meter high mountain in the Aberdare Range in Kenya . After Mount Kenya and Mount Elgon it is the third highest mountain in the country with a dominance of 73.3 km and a notch height of 2081 m.
In the Maasai language , Oldoinyo Lesatima stands for mountain of the bull calf .
Location and surroundings
The Oldoinyo Lesatima is located around 100 km north of the capital Nairobi in the north of the Aberdare National Park . It is the highest mountain in the eastern rift of the Central African Rift Valley . There are prominent volcanic cones in the area called Dragon's Teeth .
