Olga Hahn-Neurath

Olga Hahn-Neurath (* July 20, 1882 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † July 20, 1937 in The Hague ) was an Austrian mathematician and philosopher, best known for her membership in the Vienna Circle . She was the sister of the mathematician Hans Hahn .

Hahn-Neurath enrolled in 1902 to study mathematics and philosophy at the University of Vienna . In 1911 she became the third graduate of philosophy at the University of Vienna. Her dissertation was highly praised by the reviewer Adolf Stöhr , successor to Ludwig Boltzmann's chair . In 1912 she married Otto Neurath , whom she met while studying. Olga, who at the age of 22 became completely blind due to an inflammation of the optic nerve , became a regular participant in the discussions in the Vienna Circle in 1924. During the events of February 1934 she was in Moscow and emigrated with her husband through Poland and Denmark to the Netherlands , where she died three years later.
