Oliver Carlo Errichiello (born December 14, 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German-Italian economic sociologist and author.

Career

Oliver Errichiello studied sociology at the University of Hamburg and psychology at the Université Lyon. In 2012 he did his doctorate with the economic sociologist Jürgen Beyer and the brand sociologist Alexander Deichsel with the first German-language thesis on "Brand Sociological Advertising". In 2006 he founded the research and consulting company Büro für Brandentwicklung. He achieved interdisciplinary popularity through the book "Wir Unique" in which he addresses the individualization mania and through regular appearances in the broadcast ARD-Markencheck and in the N3 magazine MARKT. Since 2017 he has been the author of the liberal-conservative magazine Tichys Insight with a column on consumer philosophy as well as on issues of brand management and socio-economics. In numerous publications, he links brand-sociological theories with contemporary issues in pop culture and refers to the work of Douglas Coupland , who also wrote the foreword for a book.

From 2008 Errichiello developed the eco-design brand “wooden radio” for the Indonesian designer Singgih Susilo Kartono. Errichiello and his partner Arnd Zschiesche have received several awards for the Ecodesign project, including an INDEX Design to Improve Life nomination, the G-Mark Award and the Design Plus Award.

Errichiello teaches brand sociology and brand management at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. Since 2014 he has been a lecturer at the European Media and Business Academy (EMBA) in Hamburg. Since 2016 he has been the organizer and lecturer of the lecture series "Community and Society" and "Morals and Ethics" at the University of Hamburg. On August 1, 2018, Errichiello was appointed honorary professor for brand sociology and brand management at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences .
