Oliver Niklasch

Oliver Niklasch (born September 25, 1968 ) is a German chess player .

Niklasch was named International Master in August 2005 . He achieved the required standards in July 1998 at the international chess festival in Biel , where he was able to defeat the grandmasters Gerardo Barbero and Lajos Portisch , among others , with overachievement, in April 2003 at the Neckar Open in Deizisau and in October 2004 at the European Club Cup in Çeşme , also with over-fulfillment. Before he was awarded the title in November 2004 at the 5th International Rhön Chess Festival in Bad Bocklet, he achieved another standard.

In the German chess leagues Niklasch played for the SK Bremen-Nord , for the SV Andernach , for the Stuttgarter Schachfreunde (in the 2001/02 season in the 1st Bundesliga ), the SG Turm Trier and since the 2006/07 season for the SK Schmiden / Cannstatt , with whom he played in the Oberliga Württemberg and in the 2nd Bundesliga . Between 1997 and 2007 he was also irregularly active in the Luxembourg 1st division with CE Dudelange and won it in 2004 and 2007 .

In 2004 (in Çeşme, Turkey ) and 2006 (in Fügen , Austria ) he took part in the European Club Cup for the Luxembourg team CE Dudelange .

Its Elo rating is 2298 (as of October 2018), its highest to date was 2419 from April to December 2006.
