Oliver Pott

Oliver Pott (born December 15, 1973 , Detmold ) is a German Internet entrepreneur, author of numerous books, professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Paderborn and sports official.

Life

Pott received his PhD in neurochemistry from the Humboldt University of Berlin .

Act

During his studies, Pott worked as a book author with a focus on networks and the Internet. He wrote over 20 standard works on these topics for the publishers Markt + Technik and Sybex. Many of his works have been translated into multiple languages.

In 2003 he founded the software company Blitzbox , which sold download software to customers such as T-Online and the United Internet Group . He sold the company to the French listed Avanquest group in 2005 . Pott was a co-founder of Berlin- based Proxma AG and is also active as an investor in companies. In August 2010 he was appointed professor for company formation and startup management at the University of Applied Sciences in Paderborn.

Since 2000, he has pooled his holdings in Pott Holding GmbH, based in Paderborn. This company is among other things co-owner of the "Paderborner Stadiongesellschaft", which built the stadium of the Bundesliga soccer club SC Paderborn 07.

In June 2019, the editorial team of "Founder's Magazin" selected him in the top 30 list of German-speaking entrepreneurs.

Work as a sports official

In 2013, Pott was appointed chairman of the business council of the Bundesliga club SC Paderborn 07 .

During his tenure, the football club rose to the 1st Bundesliga. Pott laid the foundation for the spin-off of commercial gaming operations from the previous eV into a KGaA. In 2016, Pott took on a supervisory board mandate at the association.
