Oliver Reeh (born January 19, 1964 ) is a German chess player , translator and journalist specializing in chess and computer chess .

Life

Reeh is a member of the Hamburger SK (chess club), for which he played in the 1st Bundesliga between 1998 and 2012 . Previously he was in the Bundesliga from 1982 to 1984 and in the 1988/89 season for the Delmenhorster Chess Club and from 1989 to 1998 for the Solingen SG 1868 ; with Solingen he won the German team championship in 1997 and took part in the European Club Cup in 1991/92. He has been an International Master (IM) since 1988 . His previous highest DWZ he had in 2004 with 2475. His previous best Elo he reached in January 1991 with 2470. Reeh won in 1990 with the German national team the Mitropa Cup in the Austrian Leibnitz .

For many years he has been working as a translator for the Hamburg company ChessBase , which develops and sells chess software and operates a chess database and a chess news site. Since 2003, he hosted together with André Schulz , the TV ChessBase .
