Oliver Ruhnert (born November 18, 1971 in Arnsberg ) is a German football coach , local politician and sports manager .

Life

Activity as a politician

Oliver Ruhnert was only active in the SPD and left the party after the 2005 federal election . Since 2007 Ruhnert has worked as a local politician for the Left Party . Ruhnert is the parliamentary group leader of the Left Party in the Iserlohn city ​​council and a member of various city committees. He also ran for the election of the mayor of Iserlohn several times without success. B. 2009.

He is believed to be a founding member of the Stand Up Movement .

Trainer and sports manager activity

In the 2001/02 season he was the coach of FC Gütersloh in the Oberliga Westfalen . From then until 2017 he worked as a coach at SF Oestrich-Iserlohn and FC Iserlohn and was also employed as a scout at FC Schalke 04 for the 2007/08 season . After Markus Högner was fired in May 2009, he and Sven Kmetsch took over the training of Schalke's second team. In January 2010, Ruhnert was replaced by Michael Boris and then worked again as a scout. From June 1, 2011 to July 31, 2017 he was head of the youth department at Schalke.
