After the reunification and the merging of East and West German football , he played with Dynamo Dresden in the 1. Bundesliga . After Dynamo Dresden was relegated in 1995 and the license for the 2nd Bundesliga was refused, Kmetsch moved to Hamburger SV , for which he completed a total of 80 Bundesliga games in three seasons.
