Oliver Straube (born December 13, 1971 in Schwaikheim ) is a former German soccer player .

Player career

After three years at TSF Ditzingen in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , Straube was signed by Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg in 1993 . He made his debut at the club on the fifth day of the 1993/94 season . In the next few years, Oliver Straube became an important part of the Nuremberg midfield. He was also loyal to the club in the second division. Up to his last game for 1. FC Nürnberg on May 19, 1996, he played a total of 62 games in which he scored seven goals. In his last game for Nuremberg against SV Meppen , he was sent off with a red card.

Oliver Straube joined the 1996-97 season for KFC Uerdingen 05 in the 2. Bundesliga . With the Krefelders he managed to stay in the league. The Uerdinger could not hold him, however. Straube moved to Hamburger SV in the summer of 1998 . There he could not prevail against the strong competition in midfield and only played six times. For the 1999/00 season he moved to the first division promoted from Unterhaching. He was a member of the first Bundesliga team of the Bavarian club. With 30 games this season and three goals, Straube played a major role in the sensational relegation. In the following season he could not prevent the descent of Unterhachinger. But he remained loyal to the club even after relegation. Oliver Straube even stayed with the game association after being relegated to the Regionalliga Süd and was still on the pitch in eight games.

In the 2003/04 season he played again in the 2nd Bundesliga, this time Straube had joined SSV Jahn Regensburg . After one season he went back to the Regionalliga Süd for TuS Koblenz .

The former Bundesliga professional ended his career in 2006 with the amateur club ASV Neumarkt .
