Oliver Unsöld (born October 21, 1973 in Ulm ) is a former German soccer player . Following his active career, he moved to the coaching bench.

Career

Unsöld comes from the youth of SSV Ulm 1846 . However, he could not immediately recommend himself for the first team and went as a young player to the then Bayern division FC Gundelfingen . However, in 1996 he returned to his hometown club SSV Ulm via SpVgg Au .

With the team, Unsöld made it to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1998 . With 32 games in which he scored four goals, he was a pillar of the team that surprisingly made it through to the Bundesliga . On the first game day on August 2, 1998 in the game against SG Wattenscheid 09 he scored the 1-0 goal, the club's first professional goal since May 24, 1989. He was also one of the regulars in the 1999/2000 Bundesliga season, 33 Season games and a goal in the 1: 4 away defeat against TSV 1860 Munich were at the end of the season. After relegation, he remained loyal to the club and ran 32 times for the sparrows in the second division season. He got four goals.

After the SSV Ulm crashed into the amateur camp, Unsöld left the club in the direction of SpVgg Greuther Fürth . After only one season in which he played 22 times in the second division and scored three goals, he moved back to the Swabian region and signed with league rivals SSV Reutlingen 05 . After relegation to the regional league , he moved to Sportfreunde Siegen , where he only stayed for a year.

In 2004 Unsöld went to Olympia Laupheim in the Württemberg Association League . For a while he was team captain there and was part of the team that surprisingly defeated FC Bayern Munich 2-0 in a friendly game on the occasion of the Laupheim club's centenary . From 2006 he worked as an assistant coach for the club in addition to his playing activities.

From December 2007 he took over as the main responsible player-coach for the first team of the Laupheimer, which he looked after for two seasons in the Association League Württemberg. In the summer of 2010 he returned one more time to SSV Ulm 1846, where he was hired as the coach of the second team. After the engagement he was coach in the district league B at SV Oberelchingen for two years. At the beginning of the 2013/2014 season he was in charge of the U19 of SSV Ulm 46 football in the EnBW Oberliga BaWü. After the first team got into the relegation battle in the regional league at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, he moved up as an interim coach after Paul Sauter's resignation at the end of October and was head coach of the regional league team together with Herbert Zanker until April 2014. In the summer of 2014 he took over the club's B youth team, which competes in the junior Bundesliga.
