Olivier Weber (born June 12, 1958 in Montluçon, France ) is a French writer , traveler, reporter and diplomat .

life and work

Olivier Weber, born in Montluçon in 1958, studied economics and anthropology at the University of San Francisco , the University of Paris , the University of Nice and at the National Institute for Oriental Languages ​​and Cultures (INALCO) in Paris.

As a war correspondent , he has reported on the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq for the French daily newspaper Liberation and the French weekly magazine Le Point .

In 2008 he was appointed French Ambassador for Human Rights.

He is a lecturer at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris .
