Olověný vrch (German lead mountain) is a 802 meter high mountain of the Ore Mountains on the territory of the Czech Republic . It is located east of the Czech municipality of Bublava , not far from the German-Czech border near Klingenthal .

history

The Bleiberg and the directly neighboring 807 m high Eibenberg form a continuation of the Aschberg ridge in a southerly direction. The entire ridge is made up of crystalline slate from the upper Vogtland. This separates the two valleys of Schwaderbach (west) and Silberbach (east). The Bleiberg only became the focus of tourist interest when the Association of Friends of Nature opened the “Bleibergwarte” tourist home here on December 3, 1933. Largely preserved in its original form, the Bergbaude Bleiberg with its rustic restaurant has been inviting visitors to visit again since 1996. In winter there are usually good sports opportunities thanks to several ski lifts.

Origin of the name

The German name Bleiberg was derived from the lead ores found here . The Czech name Olověný vrch corresponds to the German name.

view

The view from the 16 m high tower is restricted by numerous trees and is mainly only possible in the direction of the foothills of the Western Ore Mountains around the Aschberg and Kiel. At the foot of the mountain you can see some of the scattered houses of Bublava.

Routes to the summit

  • From the Klingenthal train station, red markings across the Körnerberg and Cameroon to the Aschberg / Bublava border crossing, yellow marked path to the center of Bublava, follow the red markings on the village road to the Langer inn. Here to the right on the blue marked path to the summit (approx. 8 km).
  • From the Kraslice (Graslitz) train station to the city center, blue marking on the ridges of the Hausberg and Eibenberg mountains east of Tisová to the lead mountain (approx. 5 km).
