The competition in the two-man canoe over 1000 meters at the 1936 Summer Olympics was held on August 8th on the Berlin-Grünau regatta course .

The competition consisted of a race in which only five boats from five countries participated. Jan Brzák-Felix and his new partner Vladimír Syrovátka started in the two-man canoe of the Czechoslovaks .

Until the last quarter of the race it was a very balanced one. After that, however, the Czechoslovaks pulled away from the Austrians and Canadians and became Olympic champions.
