New Zealand took part in the 1952 Winter Olympics in the Norwegian capital Oslo with five athletes, one woman and four men.

It was the first time a New Zealand team took part in the Winter Olympics . All athletes competed in the alpine skiing competitions, team captain was Sir Roy McKenzie , trainer Herbert Modelhart.

Flag bearer

Austin Haywood carried the New Zealand flag during the opening ceremony at Bislett Stadium .
