Great Britain participated in the VI. 1952 Winter Olympics in the Norwegian capital Oslo with a delegation of 18 athletes in three disciplines, eight of them men and ten women. It was the only nation that went to the games with more women than men. Jeannette Altwegg achieved the only British medal win with her Olympic victory in figure skating.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the figure skater John Nicks .
