The men's 3000-meter track at the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens was held on May 1, 1906 in the Panathinaiko Stadium . The competition was scheduled at short notice in order to have a worthy competition in this discipline after the unsatisfactory course of walking over half the distance .
