The men's javelin at the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens was decided on April 26, 1906. In various sources the competition is listed as "javelin throwing (free style)". However, there was no other javelin competition in Athens. So while the throwing technique could be chosen freely, the length of the inrun was limited to 10 meters.

The present order and the width information are based on "Sports Reference". Kluge names the Finn Åhlman differently among the knocked-off participants. Accordingly, the Norwegians Halse and Carlsrud move up one place. Häggman, Souček and Vargha are also given without width or placement.

In the first high-profile international javelin throwing competition, the athletes from Scandinavia dominated.
