Eric Otto Valdemar Lemming (born February 22, 1880 in Gothenburg ; † June 5, 1930 ibid) was a Swedish athlete and tug of war .
Lemming is considered to be the inventor of modern spear throwing technology . In 1899 he set the first official record with 49.32 m and dominated the development for about 15 years.

1900, Olympic Games in Paris: 4th place in high jump , 4th place in pole vault , 4th place in hammer throw , 8th place in discus throw , 12th place in long jump
1902: On August 31, he threw a new world record in the javelin throw (50.44 m).
1906, Olympic Games in Athens: gold in freestyle javelin throw; Bronze in the shot put ; Bronze in pentathlon ; Bronze in the tug of war
1908, Olympic Games in London: gold in the javelin throw (54.825 m); Gold in the freestyle javelin throw (54.445 m)
