Omar Jasseh (born November 1, 1992 in Banjul ) is a Gambian football player who is currently without a club.

Career

society

Omar Jasseh began playing football in his home country of Gambia when he was twelve . There he played for Maccassa FC and Samger FC, among others . In 2006 he came to England , where he attended three different youth academies in three years. First he played for Charlton Athletic , in 2007 he went to Chelsea and in 2008 he trained at Crystal Palace . In 2009 he emigrated to the USA , but came to Toronto FC in Canada , where he coached in 2009.

On April 14, 2010, when he was seventeen, he signed his first professional contract with the San José Earthquakes , a team from Major League Soccer . This made him the youngest player ever to be under contract with the Earthquakes. Ten days later he made his league debut in the 3-2 loss to CD Chivas USA when he came on for Joey Gjertsen in the 62nd minute . However, Jasseh got there only five chances to play in the league and therefore the contract was terminated in July 2011 by mutual agreement.

In 2012 he moved to Mjölby Södra IF .

In February 2013 he completed a trial training at Werder Bremen . Here he trained for six weeks and was offered a contract, but the then coach Thomas Schaaf was dismissed and the transfer failed. In 2014 he was under contract for a short time with the Finnish third division club AC Kajaani .

In the spring of 2016, Omar completed a few weeks of testing at the Krefeld top division club KFC Uerdingen 05 and scored two goals in one half in a test match. He was firmly signed for the new 2016/17 season. However, Jasseh, who in the meantime had some difficulties with the entry, never came to a league assignment.

In January 2017, TSG Sprockhövel also showed interest in him, but nothing came of this commitment.

National team

Jasseh completed four international matches as part of the 2011 U-20 African Cup of Nations qualification, two against Sierra Leone and two against Ivory Coast for the Gambian U-20 national team . However, the team failed to qualify for the tournament and was eliminated from the competition in the final qualifying round against Ivory Coast.
