Omena Hotellit Oy ( English Omena Hotels ) is a Finnish hotel chain that operates seven hotels without staff in Finland . Omena is the Finnish word for apple.

concept

The concept of the hotels includes the location in the center of the cities, the self-service of the customers and low prices. The main idea, according to the hotel chain's website, is that guests should only pay for what they need. The room furnishings and design are almost the same in each of the hotels.

There is no reception in the hotels , but after booking the guest receives a door code with which he can access the room. The room is prepaid through the chain's website.

Locations

The first house was opened in Tampere in October 2003 according to today's concept . The hotel chain now also operates six other hotels in Finland, two each in Helsinki and Vaasa and one each in Turku and Jyväskylä . The Omena Hotel in Seinäjoki is currently temporarily closed.

There used to be a second hotel in Tampere and a third in Helsinki, as well as an Omena Hotel in Oulu , Lahti , Pori and Ruka . In addition, the chain operated a hotel in the Danish capital Copenhagen and in the Swedish capital Stockholm . As a result of the rescheduling announced in August 2014, the hotel in Stockholm went bankrupt in February 2015.
