The cook Tara runs a small restaurant in Mumbai , where she lives with her two adult children Mira and Dev. One of her clients is the well-known actor Amar. Although she delivers meals to Amar every day, she only knows him on the big screen. A chance phone conversation between the two soon becomes a daily ritual. Although they talk to each other for hours, both are aware of the impossibility of a real relationship. One day Amar would like to meet Tara. The cook, who has been running the restaurant on her own since her husband's death, is currently preparing the wedding of her son Dev. They are also plagued by difficult credit negotiations with their bank. This means that there is only time for a meal together after the shop has closed. Both are soon discovered by press photographers, which brings difficulties in everyday life, especially for Tara. Her guests ask her curious questions about Amar and Dev's friends make fun of him and his mother, which also disrupts the preparations for the wedding. When he meets Amar again, he only introduces Tara to his colleagues as the food delivery woman. Despite a renewed rapprochement, it remains unclear whether the relationship has a future.
