The operose Peak ( English for laborious summit is) a 2130 m high mountain in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range, it rises southwest of Derrick Peak . The lower slope portions of the mountain consisting of sandstone the Beacon supergroup , the summit rock contains powerful sills from Dolerit .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named the mountain in 1997. The naming is intended to reflect the effort put into the climb by the steepness of its slopes.
