The Orbachtal with litter meadows is a nature reserve in the area of the Baden-Württemberg community Rosenberg in the Ostalb district .
Characteristics
The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Stuttgart regional council of June 29, 1978 and has a size of 5.9 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 1.217. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 164947 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .
location
The nature reserve is around 200 meters south of Rosenberg. It is U-shaped and encloses the streams of Orbach and Häselesbronnenbach. It is part of the 419 hectare FFH area No. 7026-341 Virngrund and Ellwanger Berge .
The NSG Orbachtal with litter meadows is located in the natural area 108 - Swabian-Franconian forest mountains within the natural spatial main unit 10 - Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land .
Protection purpose
The purpose of protection is to secure, maintain and guarantee the undisturbed development of a varied landscape mosaic with litter meadows, wet meadows rich in sedge and rushes, reed beds and a near-natural swamp forest as a habitat for a species-rich flora with sometimes very rare species and the corresponding fauna, including the common frog and the mountain lizard.
