Fire Brigade Medal 1911–1918

The Duchy of Oldenburg did not have any orders of knights or decorations. Only after the restoration of the dukes in 1813 were medals donated. In 1838 the first and only order of merit, at the same time the house order of the dynasty, was donated in memory of the deceased Grand Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig.

In November 1918, the last Oldenburg Grand Duke abdicated. The republic put an end to the medals and decorations for the time being. Only in 1927 was a new medal donated by the Free State of Oldenburg.
