Orlando Luis de la Torre Castro (born November 21, 1943 in Trujillo , Peru ) is a former Peruvian football player .

Career

society

Orlando de la Torre began his career in 1961 with Sporting Cristal from the state capital Lima . For this club he played continuously until 1974. During this time he won the Peruvian Championship four times in 1961, 1968, 1970 and 1972.

In 1974 he moved to Ecuador for the Barcelona Sporting Club .

He returned to Peru just a year later. In 1975 and 1976 he was in the ranks of the Sport Boys from the port city of Callao . In 1977 he moved to local rivals Atlético Chalaco . In the same year he joined Juan Aurich , where he ended his playing career at the end of the season.

National team

Between 1967 and 1973 Orlando de la Torre played 39 international matches for the Peruvian national soccer team , in which he was without a goal.

On the occasion of the Soccer World Cup in Mexico in 1970 , he was appointed to the Peruvian squad . In this tournament he was used in the preliminary round matches against Bulgaria , Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany .

Private

He is a nephew of the politician Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre .
