Orynyn ( Ukrainian Оринин ; Russian Оринин Orinin , Polish Orynin ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Khmelnyzkyj with about 2700 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1474, is the administrative center of the eponymous, 60.503 km² district council in the northwest of Kamyanets -Podilskyj district , to which the villages Ripynzi ( Ріпинці , ⊙ ) with about 580 inhabitants and Tekliwka ( Теклівка , ⊙ ) with about 30 Residents belong.
The village is located in the historical Podolia region on the banks of the Schwantschyk , a tributary of the Dniester , 20 km northwest of the district center Kamianets-Podilskyj and about 100 km southwest of the Oblast center Khmelnitskyi .
The regional road P-24 runs through the village .
Sons and daughters of the village
- Stefania Woytowicz (1922-2005); Polish singer (soprano) was born in the village on October 8, 1922.
