Orzechów [ ɔˈʐɛxuf ] ( German Wrechow ) is a village in the municipality of Cedynia , Powiat Gryfiński , West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
Orzechów is located 6 kilometers east of Cedynia , 43 kilometers south of the powiat capital Gryfino and 63 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Szczecin . The Droga wojewódzka 124 (provincial road) which Osinów Dolny with Chojna connects, passing through the village. The place is on the banks of the Jezioro Orzechów (German cancer lake).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1311. From 1816 to 1945 Wrechow was part of the Königsberg / Neumark district. On February 3, 1945, Wrechow was occupied by the Red Army. After the Second World War , the village came to Poland and was named Orzechów.
Culture
There is a Gothic church in Orzechów, which was built in the second half of the 13th century. After the Second World War it was given a wooden tower, as the old one, which was originally made of brick and brass, was badly damaged during the war.
