Oscar Stribolt
Peter Oscar Stribolt (born February 12, 1873 in Copenhagen , † May 20, 1927 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish actor , singer and director .
biography
Stribolt was originally a trained blacksmith . Through his good singing voice he came into contact with the theater, where he initially appeared as a singer and small actor. He made his debut at Nørrebros Teater in 1893 . After a few appearances, he got permanent engagements in Sønderbros Teater , Central Teatret and in 1913 Scala-Teatret from 1902 . During his time, Stribolt was a popular vaudeville actor who appeared in countless revues and plays, many together with singer and actress Olga Svendsen as an actor couple.
He made his film debut in 1908 with Nordisk Film . He became one of the most sought-after and productive actors in Danish silent film . Due to his corpulent stature and his large body weight as well as his cheerful mood, he was very often used in various comic roles as an actor, such as B. as a hilarious waiter or innkeeper. With the Danish director Lau Lauritzen senior , Stribolt was part of his comedian and comedy actor troupe, with whom he had a lot of appearances in many humorous roles - such as in the films for Pat & Patachon (Fy & Bi). Stribolt appeared in more than 70 films by Lauritzen senior . As an actor, he has appeared in a total of 146 mainly Danish films, four Swedish and the German film Dr. Mabuse, including the player . As a director, he led for three films from Nordisk Film Director .
Oscar Stribolt married the actress Anna Jensine Dagmar Petersen on March 12, 1898 . He died on May 20, 1927 and was buried in Solbjerg Cemetery ( Solbjerg Parkkirkegård ) in Frederiksberg .
