Oskar Gasecki (born October 28, 1990 in Louis Trichardt , South Africa ) is a Polish football player who is also a US citizen .
life and career
Adolescence
Gasecki was born in Louis Trichardt , South Africa as the son of guest workers Wiktor and Ewa Gasecki from Stalowa Wola . At the age of five, Gasecki and his family moved to Gurnee , Illinois . He graduated from Warren Township High School in 2009 and then went on to study business administration at Western Illinois University .
Player career
Since August 2009, the two-footed Gasecki played for the Western Illinois Leathernecks. Even as a freshman , he made twenty season appearances. His sophomore year was marked by a thigh injury, so that he only had fourteen appearances. In his second season he was also used more versatile as a full-back and central midfielder. Shortly before the start of his junior season , he was discovered by the talent scouts from Borussia Dortmund and invited to a trial training session.
In March 2011, Gasecki completed a trial training session at Borussia Dortmund , two months later he signed a player's contract that ran until the end of the 2013/2014 season. From July 1, 2011 Gasecki was in the squad of the second team of Borussia Dortmund. In the summer of 2012 he left Borussia.
In January 2015, after being out of a club for almost three years, he moved to Saint Louis FC .
National team
The defensive midfielder played for the Polish U-18 team .
