Oskar Glück , also Oscar Glück (born March 25, 1887 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † December 20, 1966 in Munich , Germany ) was an Austrian film producer and distributor .

Live and act

Glück received a commercial training. In 1910 he joined the film business and founded his first company, a film distributor. In 1932 he began to produce films regularly with his company Projectograph-Film and was able to produce stars such as Maria Jeritza , Hans Moser , Liane Haid , Heinz Rühmann , Willi for his films, which were staged by top directors such as Fritz Kortner , Carl Lamac , Karl Hartl and above all EW Emo Sign Forst , Franziska Gaal as well as Pat and Patachon . As a result of the Anschluss with Austria , Oskar Glück had to emigrate.

Between March 1938 and autumn 1947 he stayed in Switzerland , England , France and (from the end of May 1940 on the run from the Wehrmacht ) in the USA . There he took American citizenship in 1946. Back in Europe, Glück finally settled in Munich and ran a distribution business again with Projectograph Filmverleih GmbH. Oskar Glück was buried one day before Christmas Eve in Vienna's central cemetery.
