Heaven on Earth is an Austrian comedy film directed by EW Emo . The black and white film, based on the play of the same name by Julius Horst, premiered on March 21, 1935 in Vienna . The German premiere took place on June 7th of the same year in Berlin's Gloria-Palast .

Landowner Peter Hilpert supports his friend Paul Heller, who does not want to reveal to his father-in-law that he has invested the money left with him in his career as a composer and therefore claims to be the landowner. His father-in-law Adlgasser, who owns a restaurant, becomes suspicious when his son only delivers poor quality food and decides to visit. At the same time, a quirky aunt of the real landowner also decides to visit. In a game of confusion, the two friends pretend to be landowners or administrators, and the composer's wife is also forced to play the respective roles. When the theater director finally arrives, waiting for the latest composition Heaven on Earth , the game of confusion clears up, the landowner wins his beloved and the play develops into a success.

Filming began at the end of January 1935. The film was shot in the Tobis Sascha studios in Vienna-Rosenhügel . Siegel Monopolfilm took over the distribution in Germany. The production line was Robert Leistenschneider that Filmbauten come from the hand of Julius von Borsody . Rudolf Bertram wrote the lyrics to the music of Robert Stolz .
