Lizzi Holzschuh (born January 3, 1908 in Vienna , † July 23, 1979 there ) was an Austrian film actress .

Life

At the age of 24 Lizzi Holzschuh received her first film role in the Austrian film Lumpenkavaliere (1932), directed by Carl Boese and alongside Harald Madsen and Karl Farkas . In 1934 she achieved the breakthrough in the role of saleswoman Mizzi alongside Willy Fritsch , Hans Moser and Adele Sandrock in the UFA production The Daughters of Her Excellence . From then on, Lizzi Holzschuh was seen in numerous films in the 1930s. In the two Austrian films Heaven on Earth (1935) and Immortal Melodies (1935) her name was already in bold in the opening credits.

Willi Forst brought it to his well-known film Wiener Mädeln in 1944 , in which numerous greats of the German and Austrian cinema business participated. The film was a so-called "defector". The filming was finished in autumn 1944, but the film was not cut and finished until 1948/1949. The world premiere took place on August 19, 1949 in East Berlin.

Her grave is on the Helenenfriedhof in Baden near Vienna.
