Oskar Wisnieski (also Wisniewsky, Polish Wiśniewski , born December 3, 1819 in Berlin , † August 10, 1891 ibid) was a German painter and engraver and engraver.

Oskar Wisnieski received his first lessons in drawing and etching from his father. He then studied from 1834 to 1837 at the Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts . He also learned autodidactically based on the model of Adolf von Menzel (graphics), as well as Antoine Watteau and Nicolas Lancret (painting). Wisnieski visited northern and southern Germany on study trips. From 1884 to 1891 he was a member of the Prussian Academy of the Arts.

Wisnieski illustrated numerous books with his steel and copper engravings, including a .:

Wisniewski's illustrations appeared in the “Gartenlaube” . He also took part in the 1906 Centenary Exhibition. A posthumous exhibition of the works of Oskar Wisnieski took place in the Royal National Gallery from December 4, 1891 to January 14, 1892.
