The Oslo dinghy is an open or semi-open dinghy in clinker of 18 foot length. It was developed in 1936 by the Norwegian designer Erling L. Kristofersen .

The sail is a jib - and a mainsail , although the first units with a lugsail were rigged. Later was Bermudarigg 7.5 m² or 9 m² sail area geriggt, wherein the larger rig is a slight over-rigging in the domestic area. The sword is made of iron. The Oslo dinghy was a popular boat in southern Norway and in the Oslofjord from the 1950s to 1970s .

From 1964, Sverre Westermoen Båtbyggeri in Sørlandet Oslo produced dinghies made of GRP and in 1965 won the " Merket for god design " award . The first GRP version was similar to the wooden boat with a fore and aft deck that was open to the interior. In a later version, the space below the decks was no longer accessible.

In 2009 the Finnish shipyard Charger Composites presented newly launched boats made of GRP at the boat show in Helsinki .
