Osmar Ibáñez Barba (born June 5, 1988 in Santoña ) is a Spanish football player . The midfielder has been under contract with South Korean club FC Seoul since 2014 , with whom he won the Korean FA Cup in 2015 .
Career
Barba was trained by Racing Santander in his youth . In his first season he was loaned to the UD Salamanca second team . He returned to Racing Santander after a season of 35 appearances and two goals. There he made his debut in the second team in the Segunda División B .
On November 8, 2009 he made his debut in the first team that played in the Primera División . His team lost 2-0 at home against Athletic Bilbao on matchday one .
On July 25, 2012 he signed a for six months with Buriram United in the Thai first division . He made his debut for the club on August 1 in the Thai FA Cup .
On February 26, 2013 he made his debut in the AFC Champions League against Vegalta Sendai from Japan as captain of his team. The game ended in a 1-1 draw in Sendai . On May 1, 2013, the club reached the finals of the AFC Champions League for the first time in history.
On December 31, 2013, he moved to FC Seoul from South Korea , where he signed a three-year contract. He is the first Spaniard to play in the K League . Prior to the 2015 season , he was appointed vice-captain. During the season he was on the field in all games, making him the first foreign player to do that. For the 2016 season he was named the first foreign team captain in the club's history.
