Osvald Kastanja , born Osvald Kastan (born October 6, 1910 in Narva , Estonia Governorate ; † December 29, 1993 ) was an Estonian football player of German-Baltic origin.

Career

Osvald Kastanja began his football career in his birthplace at KS Võitleja Narva for which he was active at least in 1931. In this season he was with four goals scored second in the scorers list behind Friedrich Karm who scored eight times. From 1932 he played for the Tallinna JK for seven years . In his first season with the club, he was the third best scorer behind Arnold Laasner and Friedrich Karm with eight goals . A year later he was again the third best scorer behind Richard Valdov and Heinrich Uukkivi . In the 1938/39 season Kastanja was the top scorer in Estonia. During the Second World War in 1945 Kastanja played for a military association in Tallinn.

Osvald Kastanja played a total of three times for the Estonian national football team in 1931 and 1932 . He played an international match at the victorious Baltic Cup in 1931 .
