Oswald Haberzettl

Oswald Haberzettl (born June 6, 1892 in Engelhaus , Bohemia ; † December 31, 1981 in Zwettl-Niederösterreich ) was an Austrian dentist and politician ( ÖVP ). Haberzettl was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria from 1949 to 1959 and a member of the Federal Council from 1960 to 1964 .

Haberzettl attended grammar school in Bohemian Krumlov after elementary school and then studied medicine at the University of Vienna . In 1919 he received his doctorate and was then from 1923 to 1928 representative of the Lower Austrian Medical Association in the Zwettl district. He was involved in the Heimwehr , the Patriotic Front Militia , the German School Association , the Association of German Doctors, the Sudeten German Homeland Association and the German Gymnastics Association. Between 1927 and 1932 he was a member of the community council of Zwettl for the Greater German People's Party . With effect from May 1, 1938, he was a member of the NSDAP . In 1945 he was appointed to the Medical Council and in 1957 to the Senior Medical Council. In addition, he was a member of the Provincial Health Council for Lower Austria between 1959 and 1966, Vice President and then President of the Regional Association of the Red Cross for Vienna and Lower Austria from 1955 to 1969, and Vice President of the Austrian Society of the Red Cross between 1961 and 1969. He represented the ÖVP between November 5, 1949 and June 4, 1959 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and was a member of the Federal Council from January 25, 1960 to November 19, 1964.
