Otman Bakkal (born February 27, 1985 in Eindhoven ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

society

Otman Bakkal comes from the youth of PSV Eindhoven . He has been a member of the professional squad since 2003. He made his debut for the Dutch in the 2003-04 season, but only played twice in the entire season. For the following season Bakkal was awarded to the second division club FC Den Bosch , but there he could not prevail. Bakkal was awarded again in the 2005/06 season - this time to city rivals FC Eindhoven . There he became a regular in the Eerste Divisie and scored eight goals in 33 games.

He made his breakthrough in professional football in the 2006/07 season at Eindhoven's first division rivals FC Twente Enschede with three goals in 31 games. Then the people in charge of Eindhoven decided to bring him back. Until the 2010/11 season he was part of Fred Rutten's team . In the 2011/12 season he was awarded again; Feyenoord saw him as the ideal reinforcement after Leroy Fer moved to FC Twente . In his first match for the Rotterdam team at NAC Breda , he equalized in the 3-1 win for Feyenoord. At the end of the season he was one place ahead of PSV with Feyenoord and with nine goals had helped the Rotterdam team qualify for the Champions League second. In July 2012 he moved to Russia in the Premjer league for FK Dynamo Moscow .

National team

With the U-21 of the Netherlands , he became European champion in 2007. He was used in all five games and scored 1-0 in a 4-1 win in the final against Serbia .

For the 2008 Summer Olympics , he was appointed to the squad of the Netherlands . The team survived the preliminary round and had to compete with the Argentine selection in the quarter-finals . After the Argentines took a 1-0 lead, Bakkal was able to equalize. The winning goal for the gauchos fell in the 105th minute of extra time.

In November 2009, bond coach Bert van Marwijk appointed him for the first time in the senior national team . He made his debut on November 18, 2009 in Heerenveen against Paraguay when he came on for Rafael van der Vaart in the 85th minute . He was the 700th player who was used in the Elftal.
