The Otterbach is a two kilometer long left and northern tributary of the Elbbach in the Westerwald .

The Otterbach rises west of the Röntgenstraße in the industrial area of Westerburg - Sainscheid . It flows first in a south-easterly direction and crosses under the main road . It now reaches a forest area, makes a small arc and flows through the forest towards the south. In the vicinity of Guckheim the Otterbach leaves the forest moving in a south-easterly direction, flows around the northern edge of the village and crosses under the main road again , to finally flow east of Guckheim into the Elbbach .
