Ottering is a district of the municipality of Moosthenning in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Ottering is about four kilometers north-east of Moosthenning on the Otteringer Bach.

history

To the north of Ottering, seventy Celtic graves and objects from the older Bronze Age have been found, which confirm an early settlement of this area. Ottering is an old parish seat that was the ecclesiastical center of the area.

During the Bavarian period the place was subordinate to the Landau nursing court . When it came into being, the Ottering community belonged to the Landau an der Isar regional court , then to the Dingolfing regional court , which was newly established in 1838 , to the Dingolfing district office and finally to the Dingolfing district . With effect from May 1, 1978 Ottering was incorporated into the new large community of Moosthenning.

The old schoolhouse, built in 1872, was last used as a country youth home and was demolished due to a municipal council resolution from 2005.
